Wine and Design Evening with award winning Book Designer Sandy Cull

Join us for an evening of wine and book discussion in a relaxed setting at the end of the week on Friday October 25 at 6:30pm.

SPEAKER:
Sandy Cull: Sandy has been a freelance book designer since 2006. Prior to freelancing, Sandy was an in-house designer for more than a decade at Penguin Books Australia, working on projects mostly within the Lantern imprint.

Way back in 2005, she designed the cover of a book sitting on many of our kitchen bookshelves – Stephanie Alexander’s The Cook’s Companion.

A multi-award winner, she designed the cover of the 2016 Stella Award winner The Museum of Modern Art, which won both the Literary Fiction and Cover of the Year categories at the 2017 Australian Book Design Awards.

Sandy was a founding Australian Book Designers Association (ABDA) committee member, has been a guest speaker at writers’ festivals and an occasional guest lecturer on book design at secondary and tertiary level.

She’s still planning to blow the cobwebs from her Arab platen press and finally print some small literary works in hot metal.
