Bricks & Mortar: Sedonia

Hello, and welcome to the first Bricks & Mortar post for the CWC blog, where each month I will be taking you on a tour of an actual bricks and mortar establishment run by a creative lady. First up is Sedonia, a gorgeous design shop located in Seddon in Melbourne’s inner-west run by Nicola and Inge, best friends who met when they were both art students. Prior to opening Sedonia, Nicola worked as a mosaic artist and Inge as an interior designer, and the pair decided to open Sedonia around three and a half years ago as a place to bring together their combined love of good design, beautiful arts and crafts and unique fashion.
Nicola and Inge are both working mothers with a strong sense of family and friendship, and they have brought this ethos to their successful business. They have also managed to create a completely welcoming, laid back space that’s packed full of visual delights and lovely details.
At Sedonia, Nicola and Inge stock a great mix of products from local and international labels. On my recent visit I spotted lots of lovely ceramics from Have you Met Miss Jones, prints from Able & Game, cushions and homewares from Spacecraft, shadow boxes from Bonnie & Neil, jewellery from Elk Accessories, prints from Me and Amber, cookbooks from The Hungry Girls, dinnerware from Donna Wilson, stationery from Rifle Paper Co. and lots and lots of Marrimeko.
You could easily while away a good half an hour (and empty your piggy bank) looking through the beautiful products on display in Sedonia. And just in case you didn’t already need a good reason, Sedonia is the perfect excuse to come and explore Seddon and Melbourne’s inner-west!
